Gabby Boquet was awarded the Nursing Solutions of LA Scholarship. Gabby was an honor graduate with a 4.13 GPA at St. Amant HS where she was a member of the soccer team. She enjoys archery, culinary and photography as hobbies. Gabby will be majoring in Nursing at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette this fall. Saturday marks 55 years since Neal Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first men to step foot on the moon. A retired Lafayette rocket engineer had a small part in helping the Apollo 11 crew make history that day. As the Saturn V rocket blasted off into Earth's atmosphere from Florida, nearly a billion people worldwide watched history in the making. APD investigating shooting at Levin, Essie Streets
ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened on July 20 around 10:50 p.m. Officers responded to a local hospital in regards to someone who had been shot Saturday night. APD said they determined the shooting happened in the Levin Street and Essie Street area.
