‘All Individuals First’ 10th Anniversary Fundraiser Aug. 1
All Individuals First is hosting a 10th Anniversary celebration at 6 p.m., Aug. 1 in the Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church’s Kelly Hall. The celebration, which also is a fundraiser for the organization, will feature a dinner, silent auction, games and a raffle. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and can be purchased at allindividualsfirst.org or at the door.

This project is part of regular building maintenance and renewal.

Man sentenced for shooting Border Patrol agent in New Mexico
NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – An El Paso man was sentenced to federal prison for attempting to murder a U.S. Border Patrol agent during a routine immigration stop in New Mexico. Roberto Esquivel, 25, was pulled over by a Border Patrol agent on a rural section of New Mexico Highway 146 on Jan. 5, 2023. According to court documents, the agent went up to the vehicle and saw individuals inside whom he suspected of being undocumented immigrants. The agent then asked Esquivel to exit the vehicle and that’s when he shot the agent.

Kind Bread Company to close this month
Kind Bread Company, a four-year-old bakery off S. Solano Drive, recently announced it would close July 27. Owner and baker Samantha Kindred delivered the news in a video posted to Instagram on July 5. In the video, Kindred said that medical issues will prevent her from being able to focus on the bakery.

Cookies Hit With $350K Fine
An Albuquerque cannabis dispensary was hit with a $350,000 fine from the state’s Cannabis Control Division (CCD) Tuesday related to the store’s grand opening in Nov. 2023. According to a settlement agreement between Blue Whale Enterprises and the CCD, the company is now required to pay the state for violations at the grand opening of Cookies dispensary, which Blue Whale Enterprises owns.
