Seasoned restaurateur Gabrielle Long is working on a new concept in Eureka that is both a new restaurant and a headquarters for food truck businesses. The new concept will take over the former space for a long-time breakfast and brunch staple, The Chalet House of Omelettes at 1935 5th St .

The little brick building has remained vacant for the past three years since the closure of The Chalet House. Now, a new restaurant and commercial kitchen called The Tasty Hub is on its way to repurpose the space on the east end of Eureka.

The site plans were approved by the planning commission last November . Staff report suggests the restaurant will open Wednesday through Sunday from 8 to 4 pm. Application material suggests the design was created by permit-holder and Arcata-based architect Kash Boodjeh .

The project’s owner, Long, is an experienced restaurateur himself and owns the Caribbean restaurant A Taste of Bim in Old Town. What Now Sacramento reached out to Long with a request for comments but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.
