Kansas Hiring to Fill 700+ Jobs at Virtual State Agency Job Fair

    2024-03-18

Kansas City, MO. - With a record low unemployment rate of 2.6%, many employers across Kansas are struggling to find the available workers needed to fill all of their job openings.

And that goes for state agencies as well. In fact, there are over 700 state government job openings in Kansas at the time of this writing.

To further add to the problem, many job seekers are likely unaware of the employment opportunities available with the State of Kansas, including the competitive employee benefits.

So, with more than 700 jobs to fill, the state has decided partner with KansasWorks to offer a virtual state agency job fair to help fill these openings.

According to the KansasWorks website, the virtual state agency job fair will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Job seekers (attendees) will need to register for the remote career fair ahead of time.

Representatives from numerous state agencies across Kansas will be on hand (online) to provide information on hundreds of career opportunities with the state. Their goal for the virtual job fair is two-fold:

    1. Inform job seekers about employment opportunities offered by the state. As mentioned, many people likely don’t know about the diverse range of careers available with state agencies.
    2. Provide interested job seekers with information on how to apply to open positions. Interested applicants can get a sneak peek at the hiring process.

However, even if you don’t see this story in time to attend the virtual job fair, you should still check out employment opportunities with the State of Kansas, as many positions likely will still be available after the career fair.

In fact, state agencies across Kansas have a wide range of career opportunities available, including internships, full-time jobs, and even part-time positions.

Furthermore, state employees are eligible for comprehensive benefits like health insurance, employee discounts, retirement plans, and paid time off, among others.

So, the virtual job fair will be a perfect opportunity for job seekers to explore the wide range of employment opportunities available with the State of Kansas. But even if you don’t make it online in time for the remote career fair, you can still learn about career opportunities with KansasWorks — the agency tasked with helping bring job seekers and employers together in Kansas.

But if you are interested in attending the virtual state agency job fair, make sure you work on polishing your resume and practicing your “elevator pitch” to catch the attention of hiring managers.
