EVANSVILLE – A motorcycle rider was killed and two others in a car suffered minor injuries after a wreck on U.S. 41 Tuesday night.

Vanderburgh County Chief Deputy Coroner David Anson identified the rider as 67-year-old Evansville Terry Lee Magan. He was taken to Ascension St. Vincent, but later died of his injuries.

According to a news release from the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's office , multiple authorities responded to the intersection with Hillsdale Road just after 9:40 p.m. A white passenger car and a black motorcycle had collided, leaving the bike rider unconscious.

The occupants of the car were treated for minor injuries. They submitted to chemical tests – standard procedure in a fatal or serious wreck – but "alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to be a factor at this time," the release states. No arrests have been made.

The wreck shut down that section of the road for more than two hours, the sheriff's office said. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
