HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – The Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District (EID) is organizing and hosting Fireworks on the Ohio Presented by Bally’s Evansville on July 4.

Event organizers state the event will start at 6 p.m. with 25 food trucks opening along Riverside Drive (from Court to Cherry Street) along with free activities at Riverside & Main, including face painting, yard games, a patriotic balloon arch for photo memories and a performance by the Boom Squad at 6:30 p.m.

The fireworks will take place at dusk, at about 9:15 p.m.

Officials state the show will be 17 minutes, consisting of over 1,600 shells and will pay homage to America’s spirit, featuring a mix of patriotic favorites and pyrotechnic effects. Officials say the events will be held rain or shine. If there is inclement weather, the show may be delayed, but it will take place on July 4.

“We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, led by Bally’s Evansville, for their support of this
cherished community celebration. Thanks to their generosity, we will welcome thousands
Downtown to enjoy the festive atmosphere, food, free activities and an unforgettable fireworks
display,” said Adam Trinkel, executive director, EID

Officials state safety is of utmost importance, and the following items are not permitted at the event: personal fireworks, glass containers, illegal substances, pets, skateboards, rollerblades, skates, bicycles, scooters, drones/RC aircrafts, alcohol and coolers. Officials also state children under 18 should be supervised by an adult. Bags, containers and packages are subject to searches within the venue.
