Evansville will be getting a second location of a local family-owned restaurant with a popular breakfast menu.

Sunrise Cafe Family Restaurant, founded in 2023, is located on North Kentucky Avenue off U.S. 41, south of Mount Pleasant Road. Founded by Kenny Salazar and sisters Adela and Nancy Flores, the restaurant offers classic American diner food with Tex-Mex specialties.

According to its social media pages, the restaurant plans to open a second location at 2121 N. Green River Road in the former Casa Fiesta restaurant. No firm opening date has been set yet, but they do plan to open later this month.

In addition to the announcement of the new restaurant, Sunrise Cafe officials announced new hours for both locations − they'll be open Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

They will continue to offer an everyday breakfast menu that features egg-and-meat platters and skillets, country-fried steak, omelets, stuffed French toast and pancakes, and lunch specials including stir-fry, ribeye sandwiches, liver, wraps and more.
