    Car catches fire after fireworks ignite inside

    HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- Evansville Police say that a car caught on fire after a passenger dropped a lit firework inside.

    Two dead after accident on North Fulton in Evansville

    According to a police report, the incident happened around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Lloyd Expressway and southbound ramp to Highway 41. When an officer arrived, he witnessed two individuals running from the vehicle with one person having burns on their feet.

    The driver of the vehicle told police that a firework was thrown into the car by an unknown subject, but the passenger of the vehicle said that he dropped a lit firework inside of the car, causing more fireworks inside to ignite. Police say that a witness saw the passenger throwing fireworks from the vehicle while traveling westbound on the Lloyd Expressway prior to the incident.
