HENDERSON, KY. (WEHT) – A man is arrested in Evansville after police say he stole over $15,000 in guns, ammunition and other items from his employer.

According to an affidavit acquired by Eyewitness News, Michael Turpen was arrested and charged with firearm theft and fraud.

Deputies say that Turpen would alter receipts from customers that had already paid for their items. Turpen would then delete items from the receipts and add more items, then steal them from the store.

Deputies say Turpen admitted to stealing over $15,000 in items to get free items for himself and friends. During a search of his home, deputies found three stollen guns.
