It's been a soggy Tuesday so far in the Tri-State, and more rain and storms are on the way, according to the National Weather Service.

Here's what forecasters are saying about the weather in the region, and chances for severe storms.

'Slight risk' for severe weather in Evansville, Henderson areas

The Storm Predicition Center has placed the Tri-State in a "slight risk" zone for severe weather chances on Tuesday.

The main concerns, forecasters said, are for damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph, heavy rain, flash flooding and frequent lightning.

That's no surprise for anyone who looked outside starting around 7 a.m. in the Tri-State, as a line of rain and thunderstorms rolled south into the region.

More storms are on the way later Tuesday and into Tuesday night.

What time will severe weather threat be highest in the Tri-State?

The National Weather Service says storms are expected mainly from 3 p.m. through 11 p.m.

A flash flood watch is in effect for Evansville and Henderson through Wednesday morning.

Thunderstorms may produce heavy rain that could lead to flash flooding Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.
