An Evansville woman was killed Wednesday morning after she collided with a truck while driving the wrong direction on an interstate highway in Webster County, Kentucky, officials said.

Kentucky State Police publicly identified the woman as 25-year-old Krista N. Brune. The Webster County Coroner’s Office pronounced Brune dead at the scene of the crash near I-69’s Mile Marker 131.

The incident happened at 1:31 a.m., according to a KSP news release.

Brune, who was driving a Nissan sedan, began “traveling northbound in the southbound lane” and later collided with a Ford F-350 truck, the release states.

The driver of the truck was uninjured. The KSP said its investigation is ongoing and being led by an accident reconstructionist.
