    Vanderburgh County Coroner identifies Evansville woman found dead behind vacant home

    EVANSVILLE — The Vanderburgh County Coroner has released the identity of the woman found dead behind a vacant home in Evansville last week.

    The woman was identified as Michelle Louise Thompson, 46, of Evansville.

    An autopsy has been completed, but cause of death has not yet been released. The Evansville Police Department is investigating the death

    Sgt. Trudy Day, a spokeswoman for the Evansville Police Department, said the death is being investigated as suspicious.

    Officers were originally dispatched to the 1000 block of North Fifth Avenue around 4:30 p.m. this past Thursday in reference to a "suspicious circumstance."
