CLINTON — Cougars junior Reagan Flickinger has not only been the hottest shooter in the Rock Valley Rock Division, but he has consistently stayed among the top 40 scorers in all of Wisconsin.

And now one of Clinton’s finest players has his name atop the record book after he scored a monstrous 48 points to smash the school record in a 73-60 win over Evansville on Monday night.

The 6-foot-3 guard scored nine 2-pointers, eight 3-pointers and went 6 for 8 from the line in the dominant effort. Flickinger scored 22 before halftime and sank five of his treys on his way to 26 more points in the second.

Flickinger was averaging 23.8 points per game coming into Monday’s game, putting him in first in the conference and 36th in the state.

Isaac Krummel and Mason Floberg each added eight total points for the Cougars (7-16, 4-10 Rock Valley Rock), who held a 31-27 lead at halftime.

The Blue Devils (4-19, 2-12) were paced by Karder Tway, who scored 14 points, while Cade McCollough hit three treys on his way to 13 points.

Both squads wrap up the regular season Thursday as Clinton faces first-place Edgerton and Evansville travels to play Brodhead.
