Aundra Lett Jackson, a native of Evergreen, was recently honored by being named as the State Commander of the Kentucky Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
The honor was bestowed on Jackson last month and she will serve her term in the position from June 2024 to June 2025.
Mrs. Lett Jackson has served with the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (DAVA) for over 17 years.
The mission of the DAVA is one of the reasons she is so proud and honored to serve in her new position
The mission is “To Aid and Assist Disabled Veterans and their Families. The Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary cherishes four great principles: Comradeship; Loyalty; Devotion; and Service.
Mrs. Lett Jackson is a military spouse of 47 years and values these principles through her everyday life.
She is married to retired (MSG) Larry James Jackson Sr., of Brewton.
Mrs. Lett Jackson is a 1977 graduate of Evergreen High School in Evergreen.
The couple currently resides in Radcliff, Kenn. They are the parents of four children with three grandchildren.
She is the daughter of the Late Margarite Rodgers Williams, Lewis Walter Williams and Thomas James Lett, Sr. and granddaughter of the Late Mrs. Katie Lett Jones and Willie A. Jones of Brewton and Guy and Cora Bell- Rodgers of Evergreen.
Since 1922 the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (DAVA) has partnered with the DAV parent organization in their mission of service to disabled veterans and their families. That relationship has continued to flourish and the blended organizations have achieved many victories in their quest to improve the quality of life our veterans rightly deserve.
