Carrie Underwood has never been shy about her Christian faith. The mother of two has been vocal about her beliefs, which are on display in a new video shared on social media, of Underwood performing the popular worship song, “Goodness of God,” at an undisclosed church.
The song was first released in 2019 by Bethel Music. It has since been covered by numerous artists, including CeCe Winans. Rhett Walker, Israel & New Breed and more.
Earlier this year Underwood launched Savior Sunday Daily, a new faith-based station, available on the SiriusXM app. Savior Sunday Daily is an extension of Underwood’s Savior Sunday programming, available on Sundays on her Carrie’s Country channel.
“I feel like people my age and older really did grow up singing hymns,” Underwood said when the new station was announced. “We go to church now, and everything is very praise and worship, which is wonderful, but I feel like there are a lot of people who have not experienced a lot of these hymns, or they’re not a part of their weekly life. So, I hope people that are like me, that grew up with them, can listen to them and feel the heart behind them. We wanted to make them sound fresh, but we didn’t want to change anything too much.
“So, I hope the traditionalists will enjoy it, but I also hope that people who haven’t experienced these songs as much can listen and feel, get that sense of home but enjoy what they’re listening to as well,” she added
The Oklahoma native celebrated her faith in 2021, with the release of My Savior, an entire record with faith-based songs. For Underwood, it was important for fans to see that side of her as well.

“I feel like the answer to all of our problems is Jesus,” Underwood told Grammy.com. “it’s not a secret where I stand. And this has been good for my soul. I feel like hopefully when people listen to it, it’ll inspire. It’ll bring some peace, and hopefully some good, positive feelings.”
“it feels like home,” Underwood told Good Morning America. “There are so many people that even still work on the show that were there when I was a contestant. And I feel like being on both sides of the coin, I’ll be able to hopefully offer some insight and help and kind of offer a different viewpoint.”
