Eagles News: Philadelphia ranks 5th in ESPN’s future NFL power rankings
Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ... 2024 NFL Future Power Rankings: Projections for all 32 teams - ESPN+. 5. Philadelphia Eagles. Reason for hope: Jalen Hurts turns 26 next month, and despite last season’s late collapse, he has shown plenty of reason to believe he can be the guy he was in 2022, when the Eagles went to the Super Bowl. Under GM Howie Roseman, Philadelphia also rebuilt the secondary in the draft, and all those young Georgia defensive players that it drafted in 2022 and 2023 should only keep getting better. Reason for concern: After the 2022 season, both of the Eagles’ coordinators left to become head coaches (Jonathan Gannon in Arizona and Shane Steichen in Indianapolis). Now the organization has moved on from offensive coordinator Brian Johnson in favor of Kellen Moore and has hired Vic Fangio at defensive coordinator. With the additions to the roster and the internal expectations that come with big moves for a contender, the coaching staff’s functionality and consistency are what worry me more than anything. Nugget to know: Free agent addition Bryce Huff is still 26 years old and ranked eighth in pass rush win rate among edge rushers last season (22%). However, he made only 16 tackles on run plays, and the average tackle came after a gain of 3.4 yards, which ranked 75th among edge rushers. [BLG Note: The Eagles dropped from 1st last year to 5th this year. The Cowboys are 14th, the Commanders are 22nd, and the Giants are 29th.]
The Flower Mama of Elkins Park named Best Mobile Flower Outfit by Philly Mag
The Flower Mama, a boutique floral arrangement service in Elkins Park, has been named Philadelphia Magazine’s Best Mobile Flower Outfit for 2024. As soon as Elkins Park florist Maeve Gavin’s pearlescent green 1959 Volkswagen flower truck, Rosebud, rolled into town, it became the centerpiece of festivals, markets and private parties. (You may have seen it at the 2024 Flower Show.) Like all the best things in Philly, Rosebud blends quirk and quality. Gavin stocks her mobile flower bar with luscious — often homegrown — blooms ready to be combined into custom bouquets that thrive for weeks. Follow @the.flower.mama on Instagram to see where she’ll be next.
Eagles training camp: How will CB situation play out outside Darius Slay? Who emerges as the starters?
One of the biggest weaknesses on the Philadelphia Eagles last season turned into a strength. The Eagles had no choice but to revamp the secondary, specifically the cornerback position. Philadelphia's pass defense allowed a 97.6 passer rating (29th in the NFL) and 35 passing touchdowns (31st in NFL), the two biggest signs the team needed an influx of young talent at cornerback.

Happy Monday! The NBA offseason is beginning to wind down for most, but for Sixers superstar Joel Embiid, the action is only beginning. Let's discuss that and more:. Last week, the Sixers' franchise cornerstone became eligible to sign a three-year contract extension that would ensure Embiid is signed for the next five seasons. The Sixers would essentially guarantee themselves control over the remainder of Embiid's prime, but they could also be on the hook for at least a year or two of his post-prime days when his natural aging and lengthy injury history kick in.
