The preliminary ratings for Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown are in. Based on the overnight ratings, the show brought in 2,433,000 viewers. This marks a 21% increase from last week. The show drew 811,000 viewers in the key 18-49 demographic, up 19% from last week (0.60). It was #2 in total viewership and the demo, behind the Olympics.

As we’ve been reporting here on eWn, Bobby Lashley’s WWE contract is expiring in the near future and he is likely to leave the promotion. According to a report from Fightful Select, Lashley’s WWE deal will be up this weekend. WWE legend Kevin Sullivan passed away recently, the promotion announced Friday on its website. 

He was 74. 

The WWE did not reveal a cause of death or further details. 



Sullivan’s death was confirmed on the Instagram page of his podcast, “Taskmaster Talks.

“Rest in peace, Kevin Sullivan. Your legacy will never fade and I’ll see you on the other side, my friend,” his co-host John Poz wrote.
