    Corey Shivel wins Washington County Commissioner's seat runoff

    Corey Shivel secured the Republican nomination for Washington County Commissioner District 2 in a decisive victory over Michael Colaw in Tuesday's primary runoff.

    Oklahoma State Election Board unofficial results show Shivel garnered 77.16% of the vote, totaling 821 votes, while Colaw received 22.84% or 243 votes.

    Despite a tightly contested primary on June 18 , where just 55 votes separated the two candidates, Shivel beat Colaw in the runoff with ten times the margin with 578 votes.

    According to the unofficial results, 1,064 people voted in the runoff.
