    Excelsior Springs Community Leaders Gather for Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast

    EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, MO – The Excelsior Springs community came together on Thursday, May 2nd, for the annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, fostering unity and positivity within the city. Hosted by Mayor Mark Spohn and Mike Boudreaux, President of the Excelsior Springs Christian Ministerial Alliance, the event at The Elms Hotel drew a crowd seeking inspiration and connection.

    Following a hearty breakfast, the program commenced with a presentation of the Colors by the Job Corp NROTC, followed by an uplifting performance by the Excelsior Springs High School Choir led by veteran teacher Tim Harlan.

    Speaker Rod Handley gave a powerful message about allowing miracles to happen in our lives.

    The keynote speaker, Rod Handley, founder and president of Character That Counts, delivered a powerful message about the power of prayer and allowing miracles to happen in our lives. Handley, known for his nationwide speaking engagements on values and character, used his personal experience of overcoming cancer as a testimony to illuminate his points.

    Mayor Mark Spohn addressed the crowd informing them of the history of National Day of Prayer and the connection to Missouri's only president, Harry S. Truman.

    Prayers were offered for the city, state, and nation, focusing on public servants, educators, and city workers. The breakfast concluded promptly at 8:00 a.m., leaving attendees with a renewed sense of purpose and a spirit of unity for their community as they headed back out into the world.
