The City of Excelsior has decided to move up its Fourth of July Lake Minnetonka Fireworks show to Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. due to expected heavy rain on Thursday.

The decision was made after discussing it with the National Weather Service Twin Cities and other departments. It was announced on Facebook , confirming that the fireworks show will take place at Excelsior Commons.

According to the National Weather Service , "multiple rounds of thunderstorms" will occur until Friday morning. Due to prior wet conditions and the high amount of rainfall in the past couple of weeks, flash flooding is expected.
