Beaufort, SC is known for being a charming little seaside town with well preserved Antebellum homes and streets lined with oak trees draped in Spanish moss which give it quite the romantic look.

The historic and eccentric city certainly lives up to its reputation as a dreamy place to live or to visit because love is always in the air in the Lowcountry. Traveling with your significant other is a great way to take a break from your everyday life, and a fantastic way to rediscover your relationship.

In fact, CBS news once named Beaufort one of 5 romantic spots for a getaway and ActiveTimes.com has named it on its list of the 20 most romantic small towns in the U.S.

Noting that Beaufort is well known with so many historical sites that the entire 304-acre central Historic District is both a National Historic Landmark and on the National Register of Historic Places, CBS said that “contributing to the immeasurable charm of Beaufort SC are some of the most romantic bed and breakfasts in the country along with some very romantic restaurants.”

In Beaufort, “couples can enjoy activities like boat tours from the Downtown Marina and entertaining carriage rides across many important points of interest,” CBS said.

The article also mentions the many famous movies that were filmed in Beaufort SC and the surrounding area including “The Big Chill”, “The Great Santini”, “The Prince of Tides” and the most famous of all, “Forrest Gump”.

    They’re right.

Every day you can see couples taking a walk through the downtown historic district, sharing a swing along the water in the beautiful waterfront park and even strolling hand-in-hand along the pristine beach at Hunting, Harbor or Fripp Islands. A morning walk in the waterfront park after a breakfast at a romantic B&B might be just what you need.

If Beaufort, SC is such a romantic place to visit…just imagine what relocating there could do for you and your relationship, providing a completely new and exciting place to rekindle a couple’s love for one another.

Beaufort’s warmer climate, amazing history and beautiful natural scenery make it the perfect location to reconnect with your significant other and enjoy living a full life in what’s considered to be one of the most beautiful places in the U.S.
