3 South Carolina spots named among Southern Living's 15 Most Beautiful Coastal Towns in South

Hey y’all. Beaufort did it again. Beautiful Beaufort, SC was just named among the Most Beautiful Coastal Towns in the South by Southern Living magazine in its recently published article, “The 15 Most Beautiful Coastal Towns in the South.”

Beaufort can’t always be #1. But, coming in at #4 isn’t bad at all.

"The South’s prettiest coastal towns have all the hallmarks of great vacation destinations. Charming downtowns, excellent waterfront dining, gracious places to stay, and scenic vistas unite for one winning combination," SL said.

And, with two additional spots in the Palmetto State making the grade, Beaufort is in some really good company on the list, as well.

The top ten are:

1. Fairhope, AL
2. Wilmington, NC
3. Ocean Springs, MS
4. Beaufort, SC
5. Southport, NC
6. St. Michaels, MD
7. Charleston, SC
8. Rockport, TX
9. Cape Charles, VA
10. Beaufort, NC

Also on the list, coming in at #13 is Georgetown, SC.

Those are three very good picks, as all three are beautiful spots for sure!

“Beaufort’s Waterfront Park is a great place to get wide-open waterfront views as you take a sunset stroll. One of the centers of this tight-knit community, it’s also home to a 100-slip marina where you can watch boats dock at all times of day, an amphitheater, playground, and weekly farmers’ market.”

“Want to see the beach?,” Southern Living asked. “The 25-minute drive to Hunting Island State Park is more than worth your time.”

It’s good to be consistently included among the best, but this isn’t really that much of a surprise if you’ve ever visited Beaufort, SC.

The accolades really have been pouring in for Beaufort recently, and we couldn’t be more proud.

Just last month, Southern Living named Beaufort the #1 Best Small Town in all of South Carolina.
