Acrobats, trapeze artists, daredevils, circus clowns and more, are all on their way to town this month as the Zerbini Family Circus is coming to Beaufort on September 23rd through Sunday, September 29th.

Calling itself "the greatest one ring circus to travel the US," the Zerbini Family Circus offers lots of fun with dancers, jugglers, acrobats, trapeze artists, performing animals and clowns all performing for you under the big top.

In Beaufort for a total of 9 shows spanning 7 days, the kids will love enjoying treats in the bright silk tent full of laughter, shrieks of surprise, exaggerated clown faces and acrobats flying over head. No Clowning: The circus is coming to Beaufort.

The big top is setting up at 12 Sammie Lane, just off of Castle Rock Road.

Offering an old fashioned circus experience, the Zerbini family has been flying through the air with the greatest of ease since around 1817. Eight generations of circus performers have descended from the family tree.

The family tradition started in Europe and in 1968, the family moved to the United States, where they all continued to perform in circuses around the country.

In the early 1990s, Alain Zerbini was recovering from a high-wire fall after performing in another circus when he decided to start his own circus. Since then, the Zerbini Family Circus, which is comprised of 22 performers from all around the world including his wife and 2 of his children, performs in some 100 shows across the country each year.

The show offers acrobats, high-wire acts, trampoline, trapeze, and some clowning around. Performing animals include a buffalo, ponies, camels, and even the Zerbini family’s dogs, who are rescues from local shelters.

Tickets for the circus are only $15 each, and kids are only $7, but they usually get in free with paid adult admission using a free online coupon as the show dates get nearer. The Zerbini Family Circus also offers early bird ticket specials online. Children 3 & under are free. Keep your eye out for the kids free coupon on Facebook.
