Enchanting: Texas rapper previously signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records passes away aged 26

Enchanting, the Texas rapper who was previously signed to fellow hip-hop star Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records, has died after reportedly suffering an overdose.

Per Entertainment Weekly , the rapper, whose real name is Channing Nicole Larry, is said to have passed away after she was taken off life support . She was 26. Gucci Mane took to Instagram to share the news of Enchanting’s death.

“So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant @luvenchanting,” Mane captioned alongside a photo of the deceased rapper.

The news of her death was also shared by a representative from her management in a statement to The Shade Room . “She came to my house the last four days to get clean,” the rep said. “She tried her best and I did everything I could to help her, she tried.”

Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records signed Enchanting in 2020 and featured on three compilation albums, Hot 97 reported. She then parted ways with the record label in 2023 and also released her last album – Luv Scarred/No Luv – that year.

Her profile on 1017 Records’ website states that she began to pursue music when she was around 18. “After graduating high school, she was quick to begin taking music seriously, taking to the studio to record ‘a little mixtape’ that boosted both her career and her passion for music,” her profile states.

Enchanting also touched on her music journey, stating that she had to get “comfortable” with her voice. “Staying in the studio and constantly recording, it helps me find the style I can be good at,” she said.

The deceased 26-year-old described her style as “something chill with a dash of neo-Soul, a twinge of old school R&B, with some modern trap flavor sprinkledin.”

“It’s like Trap-n-Blues,” she explained. Her profile further states that she “uses music as a vehicle of expression, not only for herself but for others.” “Other people can relate to the things I say. I might help somebody through any situation, they can listen to me and find peace,” she said.
