Morehouse man graduates Magna Cum Laude after first enrolling 30 years ago

Thirty-three years ago, in 1991, Demetrius Banks began his journey at Morehouse College . He has now fulfilled his lifelong dream, graduating from the prestigious college with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a specialization in management.

He started Morehouse in the fall of 1991 as a traditional student and was there for two years and a semester before he transferred out, he said. Two years ago, the Atlanta native grasped the chance to complete his business administration degree requirements through the Morehouse College Online Program.

According to a video interview uploaded on Morehouse College’s social media page, Banks gradually excelled in each of his classes, made the honor roll, and graduated Magna Cum Laude .

Netizens commended his tenacity in the comments section. One wrote, “A testament that everyone’s journey is their own! Congratulations, Morehouse Man!” Another added, “It’s not about the when. It’s always about the why. Congratulations Brother.”

During his time in college, Banks was also involved in the King Players and the Morehouse College Glee Club .

Banks intends to continue his education by enrolling in Syracuse University’s online dual MBA/JD program, hoping to become a lawyer.
