Cardi B just welcomed her third child, but an unusual symptom tipped her off to her pregnancy long before visiting the doctor.

“It was around March 20 or March 16…it was around those days, right? I woke up one morning and my mouth tasted like copper. It literally tasted like copper. So I was like, ‘Oh my gosh. This only happened to me when I’m pregnant,” Cardi recalled during a recent Instagram Live stream. “So I was like, damn. I automatically knew that I was pregnant.”

The American Pregnancy Association states that dysgeusia, a change in taste, is believed to be caused by pregnancy hormones. “Sometimes it can cause a sour or metallic taste in your mouth, even if you’re not eating anything,” the website notes.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper initially believed she was six or seven weeks pregnant, but to her surprise, an OBGYN visit revealed she was actually around 17 weeks along, as reported by Billboard .

“When I found out it was a girl, I started crying even more because y’all know that I love raising girls,” she explained.

She confirmed the arrival of her baby girl with an Instagram post last month, sharing hospital photos and calling her “the prettiest lil thing” with the date “9/7/24.”

“The “Money” emcee announced her pregnancy with baby No. 3 at the beginning of August, coinciding with the news that she had filed for divorce from Offset for a second time.

Alongside photos of her baby bump, the Grammy winner wrote, “With every ending comes a new beginning!”

Aside from their newborn daughter, Cardi and Offset are parents to six-year-old Kulture and three-year-old Wave.
