LeBron James made history with his performance against Serbia in the semi-final game of the Olympics. James recorded his second triple-double in the Olympics, with his first coming at the 2012 London Olympics. James has now become the first and only player in Olympic history to register multiple triple-doubles at the tournament.

LeBron James put up 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists in Team USA's win over Serbia. His previous triple-double came in the quarter-finals of the 2012 Olympics, where he put up 11 points, 14 rebounds, and 12 assists in a win against Australia. James is also the only player in Team USA history to record a triple-double at the Olympics.

The only other players in Olympic history to register a triple-double at the games are Alexander Belov, who did it for the Soviet Union in 1976, and Luka Doncic, who registered a triple-double for Slovenia at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. James continues to etch his name in several corners of basketball history.

James shouted out his teammates Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant after the game on Instagram . It is clear that James is having a great time and soaking it all in during his time with Team USA, as he is unlikely to represent Team USA at the Olympics at any point in the future.

LeBron James now has the chance to become the second-most successful Olympic player in men's Team USA history. James winning a gold medal will tie him with Carmelo Anthony with three gold medals and one bronze medal, and both will only be behind Kevin Durant, who will have four gold medals in his career if Team USA wins.

LeBron James The Favorite To Win Olympics MVP

As things stand, LeBron James is the favorite to win the Olympic MVP. It would be an incredible achievement for James, at 39 years old, to surpass some of the best players in the world from all different countries, to be named MVP, as he leads Team USA to their fifth consecutive gold medal win.

During the Olympics, LeBron James has been averaging 14.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 8.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. It has been a great showcase from James, who continues to defy his age and prove that he is still one of the best players in the world.

Team USA cannot afford to get complacent going forward, as this game showed. Playing against Serbia, a team they have beaten twice in the last month, Team USA struggled. In fact, Serbia was in the lead for most of the game , with Team USA only stealing the win in the final moments of the game.

James and Team USA must now turn their attention to France, whom they will face in the gold medal game on Saturday. Playing against the hosts in the gold medal game is a lot of pressure. But given the incredible amount of talent on the Team USA roster, they will still be the favorites heading into the game.
