It's safe to say that 2024 is a year that will forever be special for Jayson Tatum . In June, he won his first NBA title, and just a few days ago, he won his second Olympic gold medal. As if that wasn't enough, it would appear that his second child was also born at some point in between, with his rumored girlfriend Ella Mai being spotted holding a child, during a family photoshoot in celebration of him winning gold.

Tatum and Mai, a Grammy award-winning singer, have never publicly confirmed that they're dating, but this picture does make it seem pretty obvious that they are. Along with them here are Tatum's mother, grandmother, and the Boston Celtics star's first child, Jayson “Deuce” Tatum Jr.

Deuce was born to Tatum's high school girlfriend Toriah Lachell on Dec. 6, 2017, but the couple reportedly split the same year. As for the 29-year-old Mai, this is her first child.

Tatum had missed the first two days of Team USA's training camp for the 2024 Paris Olympics due to personal reasons and some have speculated that the child might have been born then. Mai had been spotted with a baby bump during the Celtics' title celebrations , so we knew it was only a matter of time before they welcomed their first child.

As for Tatum and Mai's relationship history, they first sparked dating rumors when the "Boo'd Up" singer attended a game between the Celtics and the New York Knicks in 2019. Their first public appearance together came three years later in 2022, at Michael Rubin's White Party.

Mai and Tatum also attended his former teammate Marcus Smart's wedding in September 2023 and you do wonder if their own wedding might be coming up at some point in the near future. With how secretive things have been when it comes to these two, we probably shouldn't expect to get too many updates on that front, though.

Jayson Tatum Admitted He Had A Tough Personal Experience On The Court During The Olympics

While Tatum won his second Olympic gold medal in Paris, things certainly didn't pan out as he'd have liked. The 26-year-old didn't play in two of the six games and didn't get as much playtime as he'd have expected either. Tatum recently opened up on his tough personal experience at the Olympics.

"It was a tough personal experience on the court, but I'm not going to make any decision on emotions. If you asked me right now if I was going to play in 2028 -- it is four years from now and I [would have] to take time and think about that. So I'm not going to make any decision based on how this experience was or how I felt individually."

"A lot of people text me and reached out and said 'Make sure this fuels you,' which I appreciate. There's a lot of people that care about me. I think the tough part is yes, you can use things to fuel you, but I'm still human."

"Part of being in the moment, I've sacrificed and put a lot into this game and work really, really hard. So in the moment, it is tough. You're not necessarily worried about fueling me for November or [whenever] the season is, but like I said, it's something I'm going to take away from this and learn from this experience. It's definitely challenging and humbling at the same time."

Tatum averaged just 5.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game at the Olympics for Team USA. He cut a frustrated figure at times and you can understand why. It would have been a tough pill to swallow, but the five-time All-Star should use this as motivation to get even better and dominate on the court in the 2024-25 season.
