Quinn Cook spoke in a recent interview with Jefe Island. He talked about LeBron James and his first interaction with him, while he was on the Cavaliers' G-League team. While perusing the practice facility hours before their training session, Cook saw LeBron James three hours deep in a workout, with hours to go before team practice.

"I tell this story all the time... I'll leave early, I'll eat breakfast there (Cavaliers practice facility)... I go into the kitchen to get some breakfast... I probably eat breakfast for about 15 minutes. As I'm coming out, I hear this grunting noise of somebody working out. And I don't the facility like all the way yet. Bend a corner and I go the wrong way..."

"As I make another left to get to the court, LeBron's in a full sweat. Drenched. Practice is at 10, I got there at 7. This is 7:20, Bron is in there, full sweat getting after it. This is Bron in 2015, four MVPs later, two rings later."

"Still working as if he's trying to make the team like I am. It just opened my eyes, bro, I had a different respect. This stuff doesn't happen by accident. Obviously, these guys are generational players, they're gifted... They work for it too. He was always the first one in the gym, every day."

Cook never got the chance to play with LeBron on the Cavaliers, but did get to play against him in the 2018 NBA Finals, while he was on the Warriors, and won an NBA championship with him. But two years later, Cook would get the chance to play with LeBron James, as he joined the Lakers.

Cook got to see the greatness of LeBron James up close, as the Lakers won the 2020 NBA championship in the bubble. Considering James' performance, there is no doubt that his years of work paid off at the age of 35.

LeBron James Continues To Defy Father Time

LeBron James is currently 39 years old and in the final years of his career. But despite this, he is still one of the best players in the world. James is coming off an incredible performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He was one of the leaders of Team USA, as he helped secure their fifth consecutive gold medal in the tournament.

James was excellent, averaging 14.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 0.3 blocks, and 1.3 steals in six games. For his performances, James was named the Olympic MVP, and named to the Olympic All-Star Five, along with Stephen Curry. James, despite being almost 40, was arguably the best performer at the tournament.

James could have had the chance to begin his partnership with Stephen Curry even earlier.

The Warriors did inquire about trading for LeBron James, but it was recently revealed that James' agent Rich Paul implored both teams to not consider the deal in order to protect his client's reputation. At least fans can cherish the incredible memories Curry and LeBron made together at the Olympics.
