Karl-Anthony Towns was a guest on Paul George's 'Podcast P' recently. KAT spoke about his relationship with Anthony Edwards . He noted that the media's narrative about their issues is strange, and he supports Ant fully and wants to see him succeed and become the face of the league. It's clear how much KAT cares for his young teammate.

"I feel it's weird that the media tries to make it seem like I don't want Ant to succeed. I'm the biggest Ant cheerleader I can be, the biggest fan. I want to see him win, I want to see him grow to be the face of the NBA, I want to see him do things that has never been done before. I want to see that."

"We just want to see each other win, like, big bro and little bro. More than even me. I love when I see him on a commercial and stuff... I'm texting him when I see a commercial like 'Oh my god'..."

"We was in Rome, me and wifey, and we were just having our vacation. I saw someone walking down the street with an Anthony Edwards jersey, I ran that boy down, and I said 'Yo, that jersey is fire'. He looked at me like 'Karl?'... Took my phone out, looked like a tourist, taking a photo, man gave me a thumbs up and all. I sent it to Ant."

It is great to hear that Towns is so supportive of Edwards. In the competitive landscape of the NBA, where the individual player has become one of the most important pillars of the league, teammates can often be competitive and resentful of each other if they see one being favored over the other. But KAT just wants the best for his young teammate and wants to continue winning with him.

Anthony Edwards Is A Superstar In The NBA

Anthony Edwards has had a stellar last 12 months. Last season, Edwards cemented himself as one of the young faces in the NBA. Edwards averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists. He made the All-Star team and made his first All-NBA team.

His performances in the NBA playoffs stole the show, as he led the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals, and did so by sweeping the big three of the Phoenix Suns and eliminating then-reigning NBA champions Denver Nuggets.

While the Timberwolves couldn't overcome Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, there is no denying that Ant showed out during his first major playoff run. He will most certainly be back on that stage, and perhaps even reach the NBA Finals one day.

Edwards then went on to be part of Team USA, who would dominate the 2024 Paris Olympics to win the gold medal for the fifth consecutive time. Edwards earned his gold medal, which gave him his first taste of winning. Perhaps Edwards will parlay this success into championship success in the NBA over the next few years.
