Stephen Curry recently sparked controversy when he changed his bio from "Warriors guard" to "Olympic gold medalist" on his Instagram. While some speculated it could be a sign of his waning loyalty to the franchise, Curry says that it was nothing more than taking pride in his Olympic debut.

So when Steph removed his affiliation with the Warriors on his Instagram last week, it sparked much concern among the fans . In the aftermath of a miserable season, and Klay Thompson's subsequent departure, the Warriors are not in a good state right now and there was a belief that Steph was growing impatient with the situation.
In reality, Curry was just expressing pride in his latest achievement: winning the gold at the Paris Olympic Games. Despite his status as a legend of the sport, the 4x champion had never suited up for Team USA before this summer's tournament.
As one of the first players to earn his spot on the team, Steph was able to lock in this offseason to average 14.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. He played a crucial for the USA and he might have won MVP had LeBron James not been at the top of his game all summer long.

In a Conference with elite clubs like the Timberwolves, Mavericks, and Denver Nuggets, the margin for error has never been so slim and Curry will need as much help as he can get for the Warriors to advance in any meaningful way. In truth, only time will tell what kind of moves the Warriors make but complacency is not an option now given their duty to Curry to be as competitive as possible.
