Paul George revealed an interesting approach he took to try and find success in the NBA. During an episode of his 'Podcast P' show with his dad, George told the story of him ordering 'Holy Water' after watching a late-night telethon when he was in his late teens. George then sprinkled it himself before saying a prayer, and it appears those prayers were answered.

"I was probably like 15-16 years old, and this particular infomercial was people having the holy ghost, based off of this holy water that you can order. I'm watching this, and I'm like 'Alright well, it's worth a try'. So I call in, and I think it was all free... Two weeks later, they sent me this holy water sample."

"I remember I prayed, I sprinkled the holy water on me. I was like 'What's the worst that can happen?'. My prayer behind it was - I just want an NBA player, like I want to be the best basketball player I can be. Safe to say, it worked."

Paul George showed how much he wanted his dreams of making it to the NBA to come true, as he even chose to order holy water, which may not have been legitimate holy water, as infomercials are known for sending customers fake or inauthentic items, and use to after a prayer to make sure his dreams would come true.

Paul George would enter the NBA in 2010, and find great success within a few years. Being drafted by the Indiana Pacers. George established himself as an All-Star by 2013 and would help the Pacers push the Miami Heat of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh during the playoffs.

George Looking To Close Out His Career With A Championship

Paul George has had a long and fruitful career in the NBA. After suffering what many believed to be a career-altering knee injury, George was able to bounce back and return to being an All-Star. George talked about how difficult his recovery period was, with his father also sharing what he and the family were thinking during that time .

George would go on to play for the Oklahoma City Thunder for a few years, before making a historic move to the LA Clippers, where he and Kawhi Leonard were expected to lead the franchise to their first NBA championship. Five years later, that never happened, and George would leave the Clippers to join the 76ers.

George's father also addressed his departure from the Clippers , noting that the entire family felt betrayed by the franchise's treatment of their son, and even considered joining their rivals the Lakers . But George went ahead and signed with the Philadelphia 76ers.

With the 76ers, George finds himself surrounded by two All-Star teammates in Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. The trio could make the 76ers the favorites in the Eastern Conference, and lead them to the conference finals for the first time in the Joel Embiid era, and lead the franchise to their first NBA championship since 1983.
