The Kings have been making their mark as one of the most electric offensive teams in the NBA who play at a very high pace, complementing the fast-break skill set of point guard De'Aaron Fox. The addition of DeMar DeRozan this summer shows the team is going to alter their style of play given DeRozan is a much more methodical player. He can up his pace, but it might not be the best for him to play at that pace for 82 games and hope to produce at a high level in the Playoffs.

Keegan Murray might fit his role better, but Kuzma might be the perfect final piece to further enhance the skill sets of Sabonis, Fox, and DeRozan while adding defensive solidity and high-volume rebounding.
The Wizards Acquire A Young Star Instead Of Stockpiling Draft Assets
It would be tempting for the Wizards to hold off on trading Kuzma until a major offer with multiple future first-round draft picks comes, but the market has shown that this isn't what teams are offering nowadays. Similar to what the Raptors did for OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam, it would be in the best interests of the Wizards to acquire a young star instead of draft compensation for a player who arguably has lower value than either of the stars the Raptors traded away.
Keegan Murray is the ideal wing to add to this Wizards team which seems to be building around Alex Sarr, Bub Carrington, and Bilal Coulibaly. Murray would fit like a glove next to them, replacing the recently departed Deni Avdija as the Wizards' future prospect at power forward. Murray averaged 15.2 points and 5.5 rebounds last season, with the 24-year-old showing promise.
Kevin Huerter is a knock-down shooter who could make the game easier for young guards like Carrington by helping space the floor. He would also be a solid trade asset for later in the season if a contender needs any additional shooting. Regardless, he's an expiring contract and could be off the team next season if he doesn't fit their plans, or get moved for additional assets.

Instead of having him limit the development of the youngsters coming through the ranks, they can move him for another young player in the same position to build a defined core of stars going forward. With a potential lottery pick from the stacked 2025 NBA Draft joining this core, the Wizards will be in a great position for the future even with the lack of incoming first-round picks in this deal.
Kuzma's development will bear fruit on a winning roster like the Kings, as he's developed his offensive abilities by a lot while his defense has always been regarded as great. He's not shown much of that on the Wizards but the flashes of it show Kuzma could commit to a winning situation and produce even more to help facilitate winning basketball.
A frontcourt of DeRozan, Sabonis, and Kuzma would challenge the best in the West, especially with Fox as the No. 1 option guard and a defensive specialist like Keon Ellis starting just for Malik Monk to light it up off the bench as a sixth man.
