Their hopes were dashed when they saw Curry sign a one-year contract extension with the Warriors this week worth $62.6 million , which keeps him with the franchise till 2027. On top of that, it was revealed that James' agent, Rich Paul, shut down any talk of a trade for LeBron to the Warriors last season . So seeing the two team up is highly unlikely.

After the Olympics, it is safe to say that fans would love to see another round of Curry and LeBron playing together. With LeBron's career winding down and Curry also being on the wrong end of his 30s, the time is ticking for the two to team up together before they must walk away from the sport.
James and Curry's rivalry defined the NBA during the 2010s, as the two players met in the NBA Finals four years in a row between 2015 and 2018. Curry got the best of those exchanges, but he did have Kevin Durant by his side for two of those NBA Finals, something that heavily tipped the scales in his favor.
James got one back over on Curry in 2016 and did so in spectacular fashion, overcoming a 3-1 deficit in the 2016 NBA Finals. If their eventual team-up would be nearly as entertaining as their time as rivals, then fans would be in for a treat, should it ever happen.
With the two players now no longer embroiled in a massive rivalry, it would be fitting to see them play alongside each other. But given their current contract lengths, and the uncertainty surrounding James' future in the NBA, fans shouldn't hold their breath to see the two superstars play together.
In theory, the Lakers or the Warriors could pull the trigger on a trade in the future. Between the two, it would more likely be the Warriors trading for LeBron, as they have made it clear they don't intend to let Stephen Curry ever leave the franchise. But given their massive salaries, and the massive salary cap implications it would create, it is unlikely either team would try and execute that deal.
