Kawhi Leonard took to his Instagram to share a picture of himself with legendary Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz at the latter's birthday party. In what appears to be a hippie-themed party, Leonard and 2 Chainz took a picture, with what appeared to be a weed joint in the rapper's hands.

Now one can speculate about Leonard's indulgence with the joint, but that is neither here nor there. It was nice to see Leonard step out and engage with a prominent rapper like 2 Chainz. Kawhi is a massive rap fan, so it is unsurprising to see him make a connection with big artists from the genre.

Earlier this summer, Leonard was spotted at the Kendrick Lamar Juneteenth 'Pop Out' event. Funnily enough, Leonard was seen smoking weed at that show as well. Perhaps rap as a genre tempts Leonard toward the recreational drug, but that is speculative at best.

Leonard shared this post on his Instagram, on which he has been more active in recent years. With just a little over 200K followers on his account, it is clear that not many fans have discovered that this is his real account. Given that his first post on the account is from October of 2022, this shouldn't come as a shock to most people.

Kawhi is known to be a reclusive and private figure, not engaging with fans or the media very frequently. Leonard's shy nature keeps him out of the public spotlight for most of the time, with him rarely making highly publicized appearances anywhere other than the NBA court.

Crucial Season For Kawhi Leonard Coming Up

Kawhi Leonard had one of his most consistent seasons in years in 2023-24, as he played 68 games for the Clippers, averaging 23.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. It was the most amount of games he had played in the regular season since his time with the San Antonio Spurs.

However, that fitness didn't last long, as Leonard suffered an injury in the first round of the NBA playoffs against the Mavericks. Leonard only played two games and then was ruled out, leading to the Clippers losing to the Mavericks. It was yet another playoff disappointment for the Clippers in the Kawhi Leonard era.

In the offseason, the franchise lost Paul George, as he left them to sign with the 76ers. He was open to re-signing with the franchise, however, he demanded the same amount of money from them, or a deal of a similar length to Kawhi's, which the Clippers front office refused.

Despite this, it appears that George and Leonard's relationship was unaffected, with the latter confirming he had no issues with George's decision to leave .

With the Clippers in a state of flux, Leonard, along with All-Star teammate James Harden, will be looking to turn things around and form a winning combination together, as they look to bring the Clippers into their new Inglewood arena with a winning season and a deep playoff run.
