LeBron James took to Instagram to react to reports of him scoring a layup against Bronny James , following it up with some trash talk . James shared a post on his story with the tidbit shared by Lakers GM Rob Pelinka and joked that while his son was playing great defense against him, he was able to adapt and play even better offense.

    "Great Defense. Better O."

If the story of James taking it to his son during Lakers practice is true, then that would be a far cry from the first practice session James had with Bronny, where he admitted to losing focus during the session while watching his son on the court with the rest of the team.

LeBron James and Bronny will be beginning their preparations for the season with the Los Angeles Lakers soon. Training camp will kick off for the Lakers in the coming weeks, followed up by some pre-season games leading up to the NBA season tipping off with the Lakers taking on the Minnesota Timberwolves.

There has been some speculation about Bronny James playing on opening night for the Lakers so that he and LeBron can share the court together, prior to Bronny being sent down to the South Bay Lakers to begin his proper development in the G-League going forward.

How Will Bronny James Adapt To The NBA?

Lakers head coach JJ Redick spoke about Bronny James ahead of the new NBA season and noted that he and the Lakers coaching staff have a comprehensive plan for Bronny's development in the coming season, and they hope that he can adapt to the plan well going forward.

Bronny James, as a second-round draft pick, is suited for the G-League, as he hasn't fully developed as a basketball player yet, and will need the chance to get regular minutes and play at a lower level. Furthermore, he isn't at the level to be able to get minutes ahead of the rest of the Lakers roster quite yet.

While Bronny going to the G-League right now means he isn't ready for the NBA, he could always become better and get more opportunities to play in the NBA. If James is able to improve at a rapid rate and make it to the NBA, he could become a valuable piece for the Lakers or any other NBA team that he represents going forward.

Udonis Haslem, LeBron James' former teammate, noted that he believes with the right development plan and some time, Bronny could become a Jrue Holiday-like impact player in the NBA.

Considering the success Holiday has had in the NBA, being an All-Star, Defensive Player of the Year, and two-time NBA champion, Bronny would be thrilled to have similar success to him in his career.

Bronny James and LeBron James will become the first father-son duo to play together in the NBA whenever they take to the court for the first time next season. But for Bronny, he will hope that is just where the records and accolades begin for him.
