Kyrie Irving responded to Dr. Jay Verma's bragging about getting Irving banned from playing in New York over his vaccination status. Irving praised god and added that the truth always comes to light, suggesting that his initial claims of the decision being targeted were true and have been vindicated with this recent news.

"GOD is truly the greatest and the TRUTH is always revealed in the light. I am grateful I am not alone on this mission. 'Rise up out of the ashes no matter what'. Hélà."

Jay Verma was recently let go from his position for compromising behavior and attending lewd parties.

This comes amidst the news of New York Mayor Eric Adams being charged with bribery and fraud. As fans might remember, Adams played a big part in the vaccine mandate being enforced as strictly as it did in New York, which prevented Irving from playing for the Nets .

Many Nets fans believe that Irving's ban from playing over his vaccination status marked the beginning of the end of their superteam. With Irving unavailable for most of the 2021-22 NBA season, James Harden would eventually demand a trade and have it granted, being moved to the Philadelphia 76ers.

On top of that, Irving's decision to not get vaccinated upset Nets owner Joe Tsai and GM Sean Marks, who refused to grant him a long-term contract extension, which led to him being traded to the Dallas Mavericks, and Kevin Durant subsequently being traded to the Phoenix Suns.

Irving has been able to find success since the move, reaching the NBA Finals with the Dallas Mavericks last season. Whereas the Nets have used the assets from both trades to begin their hard rebuild, now targeting Cooper Flagg in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Kyrie Irving's Reputation Hurt By Vaccination Drama

Kyrie Irving's decision to not get vaccinated sparked a lot of conjecture about his value to the team. While there is no doubt that he is one of the best players in the NBA, the controversy and drama he creates off the court made him quite a contentious figure among NBA front offices.

Recently, Mark Cuban spoke about his relationship with Kyrie Irving and admitted that he thought Irving was a team killer before he spoke to him and understood where he was coming from. The move to the Mavericks seems to have worked out well for Irving, as he has been happy, healthy, and fully committed to the franchise.

Irving has also spoken about how fulfilled he is with the Mavericks, thanking the franchise after the NBA Finals this year for the support that they have shown him since joining. Irving has been revitalized in Dallas, proving to the NBA why he was, and still should be, considered one of the best point guards in the entire league.

Irving will want to reward the faith that the Mavericks have shown in him by continuing to help the team find playoff success. The Mavs are considered one of the favorites to win the NBA championship next season, but will need to have a strong showing in the regular season to have a good chance at doing so.
