Anthony Edwards got perhaps the most notable introduction in Netflix's 'Starting 5' series. The clip begins with LeBron James talking about his frustration with a minutes restriction and noting that he hasn't found anyone yet that can match his level of play or fitness, before cutting to Edwards' home in Minneapolis, and giving a brief soundbite of Ant's mentality toward competition in the NBA.
A lot of fans joked about how much Ant resembled Michael Jordan, both in his appearance and in his mentality about wanting to compete with every top player in the league and be the best. Whereas others praised Edwards for his mental toughness and dedication to being a great player. But some were also critical of Edwards' possible posturing despite not achieving much.

Edwards is considered one of the best young players in the NBA, and his playoff run last season with the Minnesota Timberwolves rightfully earned him a lot of plaudits. He was the primary star of a Timberwolves team that went to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2004 but couldn't get past the Dallas Mavericks.
During the playoff run, Edwards was incredible, averaging 27.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.5 assists. It was a great showing from Edwards, who proved that he can be the first option on a championship team in the NBA.
Can Edwards Lead Timberwolves To NBA Finals?
Heading into the new season, there are a lot of questions surrounding the Minnesota Timberwolves. Last week, the franchise traded Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks in exchange for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo. Towns had proven to be a great, All-Star-level second option, who could play alongside Edwards and Rudy Gobert.
But with the arrival of Julius Randle, perhaps some questions will be asked about the Timberwolves' initial projection as contenders. While Randle is a great player in his own right, he is not the scorer that Towns was, and usually struggles to perform in big playoff games.
Combining that with Rudy Gobert's playoff woes could be a disastrous move for the Timberwolves. Head coach Chris Finch will have to work very hard to make sure that the Timberwolves can stay competitive in the West, especially with the Mavericks and Thunder looking to surpass them in the conference.
Edwards is still an amazing player, but he may have to work harder this year to adapt to Randle, and perhaps even carry a bigger load for the Timberwolves than he did last year.
