Karl-Anthony Towns may have been at a Billie Eilish concert, but that didn't stop him from keeping tabs on his former team. In an Instagram story from his girlfriend Jordyn Woods, Towns can be seen sitting in Madison Square Garden during the concert and watching the Minnesota Timberwolves ' preseason game against the Chicago Bulls.

It's clear that Towns, despite being happy about the move to the Knicks , still holds his former team and teammates in high regard, and wants to see them succeed. Towns, just a few days before this concert, played against the Timberwolves for the Knicks in the same building and had a strong showing against them.

Towns put up 16 points, 16 rebounds, and 3 steals to help the Knicks secure the win in preseason. Towns, despite his struggles shooting from the field, going 5-13 while shooting 2-6 from the three-point line, had a great game and showed the Timberwolves why they would regret trading him in the future .

But there was no sign of animosity or frustration over the trade from Towns, as after the game, he warmly embraced Anthony Edwards and traded jerseys with him. In fact, Edwards even noted that he would love to be reunited with Towns in the future, which got Knicks fans very excited about their team's future.

Karl-Anthony Towns has been nothing but gracious and kind in the wake of his trade to the Knicks, speaking very highly of the Timberwolves as an organization, and his former teammates. In fact, in a recent interview, he did note that the Timberwolves deserved an NBA championship .

However, that doesn't mean Towns is going to shy away from competing against them in a potential NBA Finals match-up, as the Knicks are one of the favorites in the East to win the NBA championship.

Can Towns Help The Knicks Win It All?

The Knicks clearly made the trade for Karl-Anthony Towns to bolster their chances of winning an NBA championship. Prior to the trade, the Knicks' biggest weakness was at center, as Mitchell Robinson's health concerns continued to flare up, and the Knicks lost Isaiah Hartenstein to the Oklahoma City Thunder in free agency.

Realizing that they couldn't rely on Jericho Sims to be their big-man starter for most of the season, they pulled the trigger on a trade for Towns. Towns' addition is useful as he can play at center, but can also move back to power forward when Mitchell Robinson is healthy, allowing the Knicks to field a dominant starting lineup.

Towns has proven that he can be a great second option on a championship-level team, as he was phenomenal with the Timberwolves last year. He averaged 21.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists, as he earned an All-Star nomination and led the Timberwolves to a top-3 seed in the Western Conference.

This season, Towns is undoubtedly on a better team. And playing under Tom Thibodeau, who was his coach with the Timberwolves years ago, he will be well acquainted with his schemes and systems. If Towns replicates or even improves upon, his performances last year, the Knicks could win their first NBA championship in 52 years.
