Murrells Inlet car dealership owner accused of failing to remit vehicle titles, check fraud
MURRELLS INLET, SC (WMBF) - A used car dealership owner is facing legal trouble after she allegedly failed to remit multiple vehicle titles and wrote fraudulent checks. 58-year-old Donna Ivey was arrested on Thursday and charged with seven counts of failure to remit vehicle titles and two felony counts of writing fraudulent checks over $5,000.

District: Student, mother back home after being hit by school bus in Anderson
ANDERSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Anderson County School District Five said a mother and child are back home after they were hit by a school bus Thursday morning. The district said the transportation department informed officials that a bus made its normal stop on Amber Drive but no students got on the bus.
Mother Arrested After Infant Dies at Anderson Motel
An Upstate mother, Queyanna Sullivan, 31 of Anderson, has been arrested following the death of her 5-month-old baby at the Super 8 motel on Cinema Avenue on Monday. The baby was found unresponsive, and while the cause of death is still under investigation, authorities reported Sullivan was under the influence of drugs. She faces charges of unlawfully placing a child at risk, with potential additional charges pending. This incident follows a previous case in June at the Baymont Inn, where Sullivan was also charged under similar circumstances. Sullivan remains in custody at the Anderson County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing.

For the first time since 2022, Clemson students are coming together to host an a TEDx event in the Strom Thurmond Institute auditorium on Saturday, August 24. Clemson University Welcomes Record Freshman Class for Fall Semester
Clemson University kicked off the fall semester on Wednesday with a bustling move-in for about 5,031 freshmen. Parents helped students settle into dorms as Welcome Week began, featuring the New Student Convocation, Athletics Showcase, and President’s Cookout on Monday, followed by the Welcome Back Festival, Panhellenic Bid Day, Tiger Prowl fair, and the Entering Class Photo at Memorial Stadium. Classes start on August 21. The Class of 2028 includes students from all 50 states and 22 countries, with a diverse array of backgrounds and future majors. The class features 137 valedictorians, 93 salutatorians, and a mix of first-generation students and legacies. Popular majors include General Engineering, Pre-Business, and Biological Sciences. The university also welcomed 1,472 transfer students and 1,154 Bridge to Clemson students.

West Union Council Enforces Attendance-Based Pay Policy
