    Kramer and Fordham Carry Women to Win; Men Take Second with Davies Leading the Way

    FAIRBANKS – The Alaska Nanooks cross country teams competed against Alaska Anchorage in the annual Blue/Gold Meet on Saturday, August 28 at the UAF Running Trails. The women's team picked up the win over the Seawolves 17-38 while the men fell to UAA, 35-21. Kendall Kramer, Rosie Fordham and Naomi Bailey all impressed in their collegiate debuts, taking places one, two and three. Kramer took first place in her first race, running a time of 18:34 in the 5k race. Fordham pushed right behind, placing second with a time of 18:41 and Bailey followed behind in third with a time of 19:21. Delainey Zock, another freshman runner for the Nanooks, took fifth place with a time of 21:00, edging out the final 'Nooks runner, Mariel Pulles, who came in sixth place with a time of 21:10.     FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The University of Alaska Fairbanks volleyball program look to get their season off to a ‘hot’ start with a four-game road stint in Hawaii beginning Friday.
