Odd Fellows Home of Elkins finds new owner
ELKINS, W.Va (WDTV) - The Odd Fellows Home of Elkins is under new ownership. The keys are changing hands, but one thing that can’t be changed is the history of a home that once housed hundreds of orphans, widows, and elderly ‘Odd Fellow’ members for over a century of operation. Built in the early 1900s, the Odd Fellows Home of Elkins opened its doors in 1910. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows, a fraternal organization dedicated to community well being, owned and operated the property which included 16 acres of land with a gazebo, pond, and three car garage. Allen white, Grandmaster with West Virginia’s Odd Fellows, knows just how important the building on 225 Georgetown Road was to the state.
