Dan Snyder lists his Virginia estate for $60 million

Dan Snyder's humongous, record-breaking estate near Mount Vernon is for sale.

Why it matters: The former Commanders owner keeps unloading his local assets.

Driving the news: The Snyders are asking $60 million for River View in Fairfax County . If it goes for that much, it would top its own record for highest sale ever in the Washington region.

• Snyder and his wife, Tanya, paid $48 million in cash for the estate in 2021.
• The 16.5-acre estate sits on the Potomac River, with a 16,000-square-foot main house, a guest house, a carriage house and a dock.
• What's inside: Eight bedrooms, nine baths, six half-baths, a home gym and indoor resistance pool, a spa with sauna and steam rooms, a game room and a 15-seat movie theater.

Zoom in: The listing comes after Snyder — who peaced out to England after selling the football team — couldn't find a buyer for his other ginormous mansion, known as River House.

• The Snyders wanted $49 million for that Potomac property, then slashed the price to $34.9 million, then donated it to charity.

Fun fact: River View's previous owner was former Lockheed Martin CEO Robert Stevens and his wife, Michelle.
