The presidential race is too close to call since Vice President Kamala Harris has been endorsed by many Democrats, according to one local political expert. Dr. Gayle Alberda at Fairfield University says she believes Harris has a better shot with independents and undecided voters than President Joe Biden. "I think there is a little bit more excitement surrounding her," said Alberda. Alberda says Harris is already polling well among younger voters. "We know the younger generation makes up a very large voting bloc. You know the millennials are one of the largest voting blocs next to the baby boomers," said Alberda. Alberda says Harris coming from an immigrant family will help her on the immigration issue. For now, everyone wants to know who Harris might choose as her running mate. Mega Democratic donors close to the vice president say her top choices include Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper. "You do anything you can to support our nominee for the office. I think there's a lot of good folks she's got under consideration," said Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont. "I think a governor might be a little bit better of a choice than a senator given that she was a senator herself. It brings a different level of executive leadership to the table and is something that JD Vance does not have," said Alberda. Sen. Vance is Donald Trump’s pick for vice president. "The Trump campaign is now going to have to drastically redefine its campaign," said Alberda. Harris' campaign says it has raised more than a $100 million in over a 24-hour period. "
