Angela Smith Pinkerton was named “Teacher of the Year” for Godley Middle School in Godley.

Angie is a 1998 graduate of Fairfield ISD and a graduate of Tarleton State University with a Masters of Agriculture. She was the supervisor for Nature’s Paintbrush Landscape, a landscape maintenance and design company, in the DFW metroplex for 12 years.

She earned her teaching certification and has been teaching eighth grade science for four years. Angie is a gifted teacher specializing in expanding her students minds to learn more than they think they can.

She uses hands-on creative projects and games to keep her students learning. Angie applied and earned a TRTF Classroom Teacher Grant in 2023. With the grant money, she bought a solar telescope and enough special eclipse glasses for her entire GMS school to watch the April 8 eclipse safely.

She is married to Lloyd Pinkerton, an agricultural science teacher, who teaches welding in the CTE Department at Godley High School where he, too, is making a difference in his students lives. They have two children, Klara and Kolton. Angie’s parents, Alicia and Ed Smith, of Fairfield and sister, Christi Smith, of Arlington, Virginia are very proud of her.
