“To my pageant mommas, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the continued support and hard work you put into this organization,” Pageant Director Emily Goodson said. “From lending a hand with decor, helping spread the word on social media, to venturing out into the community to gather sponsorships, you truly have my back and I couldn’t be more grateful.”

The Tiny Miss, Mini Miss, and Little Miss will compete at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

“To Freestone and surrounding counties, thank you for the unwavering support that you continue to pour into our youth. We surpassed yet another goal this year, bringing in over $26,000 in sponsorships alone,” Goodson said. “It is because of this support that we are able to continue providing scholarships to the title holders. You are the backbone to this organization, and I will never be able to thank you all enough.”

The Petite Miss, Young Miss, and Junior Miss will compete at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

“To my local vendors, thank you for always sticking by my side and supporting any crazy theme I may come up with. You always come through and have the goods delivered in time. You helped make this pageant a success and I definitely couldn’t do it without you all,” Godson said. “To my volunteers, rather it be a friend of many years, someone I recently met, my momma, and even the husband. I may have a big circle, but it’s full of the best people who are always willing to jump in where I need them. I definitely do not do this gig alone and it is not something that is just a few weeks process and then we are done until next year. If you see a volunteer during pageant week, be sure to thank them.”

The Preteen Miss, Teen Miss, and Miss Freestone County will compete at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

Haylee West, Brooke Fisk, Ayleah Duarte, Lillian Moore, Phoebe Portillo-Hanzelka, Alayjiah Stanford, and Ally Farmer will compete for the title of Preteen Miss Freestone County.

“To my husband, thank you for understanding how important this organization is to me and allowing me the time away from y’all to make sure it is the best it can be,” Goodson said. “Thank you for always going above and beyond to make the lighting just right, designing/building any decorations that I come up with, always at the last minute and just listening to me complain about all the things I still have to do the week that I clearly procrastinated on. Love you Hubs.”

Competing in Teen Miss are Brook-Lyn Ansley, Ava Oakes, Allison Grant, Cariss Capps, Nevaeh Coaster, and Gracie Brown.

“To my alumni queens, you are forever mine, stuck with me. Thank you for continuing to jump in where needed, helping current contestants be their best and always giving it 100% even without the crown,” Goodson said. “To the fair board, thank you for entrusting me to oversee this organization and allowing me this opportunity.”

Gabriella Diaz and Madison Newhouse will compete for the title of the 2024 Miss Freestone County.

Diaz will be a senior at Teague High School in the fall. She plays golf and is in the cosmetology program. She won first place at the district golf meet two years and also competed at Regionals for two years. She currently works at 7 Diaz Tacos & More.

Newhouse graduated as the Valedictorian of the Wortham High School Class of 2024. She plans to attend The University of Texas at Tyler to obtain her Bachelors in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She wants to get her Master’s and become a Pediatric Speech Pathologist. She currently works at Serenity Spa/ Madison’s Loft.

At WHS, Newhouse was involved in FCA, National Honor Society, FCCLA, Student Council, Cheer, Band, Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Golf, and Tennis. She served as the Cheer Co-Captain her junior year and Cheer Captain her senior year.

“To my pageant girls, rather this is your first year or third year with this organization, you are my pageant girl. I want to thank you for enduring this adventure with me and making it fun. I pray we all have the best time this year and the years to come. I pray you build a sisterhood that no one understands until they become a part of it. I pray that you make memories to cherish for a lifetime. I pray that this organization helps you build the confidence you need to go out into this big world and become whatever your heart desires,” Goodson said. “Most of all, I want each of you to remember that ‘It’s more than just a crown’. Now, let’s go crown some new reigning royalty for Freestone County!”
