Aaryn Scires, a 2019 Fairfield High School graduate, graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs on Thursday, May 30.

Scires is the daughter of proud parents Christopher and Shetonia Scires and the granddaughter of Tony and Sherry Brackens and Stephanie Scires. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology.

While at USAFA, Scires played volleyball as a middle blocker and outside hitter for the Falcons for four years. She finished her senior year as one of the team’s leaders with a career high of 263 kills, 82 digs, and 72 blocks.

Scires will begin her service in the The United States Air Force where she will be commissioned for a five-year term as a Second Lieutenant. In this role, she will be at the heart of the Air Force’s operations overseeing the procurement of everything from aircraft components from industry giants like Boeing to the maintenance of the Air Force’s base infrastructure.

Scires will be stationed at Joint Base Charleston in South Carolina. Her family is very proud of her achievement and sends well wishes as she embarks on her next adventure into adulthood.
