Edwards shows off custom woodworking

Mason Edwards, who will be a junior at Fairfield High School this fall, showed off his custom woodwork at the 2024 Freestone County Fair Ag Mechanics Show on Monday, June 10.

This was Edwards first year to compete in the Ag Mechanics competition. He placed third in the woodworking division.

Edwards also entered two wooden American flags in the Home and Garden Show. This is his second year to compete in the Home and Garden Show. He won a blue ribbon for one of his flags last year.

Edwards also competes in Farm Business Management (FBM), where he takes ag math tests on how to run an agricultural business.

I bring creativity to the table so if people just have a simple idea, we can build something really awesome.”

Edwards is the highest ranking student in his class. He is also the Student Council Vice President and is a member of the Beta Club, UIL Academics, and One Act Play. Edwards also plays football, powerlifting, and golf for the Eagles.

Mason is the son of Rick and Kimber Edwards.

“I have multiple tools, including a laser engraver,” Edwards said. “We can take any ideas that people have and make them work and come up with something awesome.”
