    Over 2,000 gallons of sewage spill: Fairhope Water and Wastewater Department

    FAIRHOPE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — The City of Fairhope announced on Wednesday a sewage spill occurred.

    According to a release from the Fairhope Water and Wastewater Department, 2,300 gallons spilled during inclement weather in which the city experienced 4 inches of rain in an hour at Valley Lift station at Dogwood Avenue and Middle Street.

    LOCATION:

    A vacuum truck contained and cleaned up the 2,300 gallons.

    Fairhope officials said no waterways were involved.

    The site was cleaned and disinfected with signs placed.
