State Fair of West Virginia nears 99th year

FAIRLEA, WV (WVNS) — The summer had just started on Monday, June 3, 2024, but many West Virginias were already looking forward to the State Fair of West Virginia, despite the empty fairgrounds in Greenbrier County.

Folks look forward all year to coming to the The State Fair of West Virginia in Fairlea to find their favorite foods and to view arts and agricultural displays from around the state.

The State Fair of West Virginia CEO Kelly Collins said on Monday that the approaching fair in 2024 will be special.

“The most exciting thing this year is that we’re celebrating our 99th anniversary,” said Collins. “It’s the anticipation of the countdown to 100. It’s an exciting time, that we’ve made it a hundred years.”

The 99th State Fair of West Virginia opens August 8, 2024, and closes on August 17, 2024.
